Grotto San Michele

The Grotto San Michele is located within the impressive Castelgrande fortress complex in Bellinzona, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Between historic castle walls and vineyards, guests can enjoy an exceptional atmosphere with a spacious panoramic terrace and an elegant vaulted hall. Since 2011, the restaurant has been operated by the Scuola Specializzata Superiore Alberghiera e del Turismo (SSSAT) and also serves as a practical training facility for future professionals in the hospitality and gastronomy sector.
The cuisine places great emphasis on regional quality and carefully and creatively reinterprets traditional Ticino dishes. The restaurant mainly uses ingredients carrying the TICINO regio.garantie label, complemented by specialities inspired by medieval recipes from the famous chef Maestro Martino.
